The New Annual Certificate of Pensionable Income

You are probably aware that as from 2011/12 there is a new requirement for type 2 medical practitioners to complete the new “self certification of tiered contributions” form where they were in pensionable employment. Type 2 practitioners include salaried GP’s, long term fee based GP’s and GP’s who work solely for out of hours providers. The completion of the form is a legal requirement and it must be submitted to the relevant PCT/LHB by the 28th February 2011.

As a GP Locum therefore, if you also have pensionable income from a Type 2 practitioner position as detailed above then you will be required to complete the certificate.
